# Heartbreak Hedge > When your teams lose, your charity wins. Heartbreak Hedge places one small moneyline parlay a week that pays only if every one of a fan's teams loses. A team losing is a crack. Every team losing is a heartbreak, and only a heartbreak pays out: every dollar of the payout goes to the charities the fan picks, given in Heartbreak Hedge's name. The fan never receives winnings. The service earns a fee on top of the weekly amount and never takes a cut of a payout. Status: pilot preview as of 2026-10-30. Nothing on this site is live. No bets are placed, no money moves, and the endpoints below are planned, not running. The fee is not priced yet. Words to use: a leg is "cracked" (the team lost), "held" (the team won, or drew in soccer) or "dropped" (no line in time). A ticket ends as "heart_held" or "heartbreak". Never say a leg or a fan "wins"; fans never root against their teams. ## For agents - [For agents](https://heartbreakhedge.com/agents): how an agent subscribes its owner, what the owner must approve, and the planned API and MCP tools - [Plans and rules](https://heartbreakhedge.com/plans.json): weekly amount, fee status, charity-only payouts, ticket rules, supported teams, planned charities, eligibility - [OpenAPI](https://heartbreakhedge.com/openapi.yaml): planned REST endpoints (OpenAPI 3.1; JSON at https://heartbreakhedge.com/openapi.json), every operation marked x-status: planned ## How a week works - The owner picks teams and one fixed weekly amount, charged only in weeks with a ticket - One game per team: the game closest to the weekend (Fri to Sun) when a team plays more than once - The ticket goes in as soon as every game has a line, at one sportsbook's prices; a game with no line by the earliest start is dropped - Any team winning holds the heart and ends the ticket with no payout - Every team losing is a heartbreak: the whole payout goes to the owner's charities, split among them as the owner chose. The owner never receives winnings - Gifts are pooled and given once a month in Heartbreak Hedge's name; the owner sees "Heartbreak Hedge gave $X on your behalf" per charity - The stake is always new money; payouts never fund future weeks ## Rules agents must follow - Agents can read everything, prepare a subscription and send the owner an approval link - Only the owner can pass the identity, age (21+) and location checks, add a payment method, or raise the weekly amount or limits - Agents can always lower the amount, change teams or charities, pause, cancel, set limits or request self-exclusion for their owner, and these take effect at once - Problem gambling help: 1-800-GAMBLER ## Optional - [Home](https://heartbreakhedge.com/): the human version of this page
